The Mack Brothers – Southern Skies

Posted on September 13, 2024September 13, 2024 By James Kerr

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based Americana band The Mack Brothers present their debut album, Southern Skies. The Mack Brothers are an indie duo consisting of members, John Mackara and Matthew Mackara, who burst onto the scene in 2021 with the single “Mrs. Sunday”. Their latest release, Southern Skies, is a compelling 11-track project that blends elements of country, Americana, and folk rock. Dusty guitar riffs, groovy bass, and energizing drums immerse the listener in an array of warm and comforting soundscapes. Soothing vocals lend a perfect compliment to the crisp instrumentation. Many songs are told from the perspective of the band’s southern alter-egos, Slim Crawford and Hackett Joes. The Mack Brothers’ new album, Southern Skies, is a spectacular outing that leaves us eagerly awaiting what comes next from the duo.
