Ken Woods and the Old Blue Gang – Silent Spike

Posted on August 4, 2025August 4, 2025 By James Kerr

Penarth, Wales-based Americana band Ken Woods and the Old Blue Gang have unleashed their new album, Silent Spike. Ken Woods and the Old Blue Gang are an emerging band that made waves in 2023 with their debut single, “Lily White.” Their latest release, Silent Spike, is a captivating 7-track project that blends elements of acoustic rock, blues, and classic rock. Wailing guitars, groovy bass, and blasting drums immerse the listener in psychedelic Americana soundscapes. Gruff vocals claw through the instrumentation, providing a rugged presence. The project is a concept album that tells the story of the “Railroad Chinese” and the building of the transcontinental railroad. Ken Woods and the Old Blue Gang’s new album, Silent Spike, is a poignant blues-rock experience and the perfect addition to any Americana playlist.
