New York-based electronic pop artist, Xeven, links up with UK-based singer/songwriter, Amii Dawes, for their new single “Neck Verse, Vol. 2.” Xeven is an independent artist and producer who released her debut single, “Silence on Set,” in 2020. Amii Dawes is a singer/songwriter who released her debut album, Little Blue Book, in 2015. Their latest single, “Neck Verse, Vol. 2,” is inspired by Amii’s 2022 EP, Neck Verses, which was written about the medieval clerical practice in which one who is guilty of crime can save their neck by reading the fifty-first Psalm of the Bible. In the new integration, Amii’s hypnotic vocal presence is highlighted by ethereal synths, booming bass, and sporadic percussion.
