Hector Lee Tut shows that he is Beyond The Curve on his latest EP release. The multi-instrumentalist, based in south-east England, impresses with this display of compositions influences by jazz, afrobeat, hip-hop, breakbeat, and folk-guitar. Hector Lee Tut plays most instruments himself, but is not above using the occasional well-placed sample, having been a fan of hip-hop since the early-90s and being inspired by beatmakers such as RJD2 and Madlib. In speaking on the experimental nature of his music, Hector said, “My music aims to tap into the beat-making culture but not adhere to cookie-cutter sampler techniques. Instead I look combine these breakbeats with original arrangements to achieve musically interesting compositions.”
Beyond The Curve by Hector Lee Tut was released to digital streaming platforms on January 28th and is now playing on Senocular Media’s Lofi Study Beats.
