Austin, Texas-based electronic-pop band, Candy Riot, links up with Jonathan Fox of Foxtales to cover Blondie’s. “Heart of Glass.” Candy Riot is a synth rock duo of Bobby Cheatham and Liz Feezor, who use 80s-influenced sounds from synths, guitars, and drum machines. Their latest single is a nostalgic cover of Blondie’s 1979 hit, “Heart of Glass.” This rendition features fat synths, huge drums, and powerful vocals. Speaking on their decision to cover the song, Candy Riot stated, “We’ve always loved that song and think Deborah Harry is one of the coolest people in rock.” Candy Riot’s cover of “Heart of Glass” is a perfect homage to the original and a great addition to any 80s or synth-rock playlist.
“Heart of Glass” was released to digital streaming platforms on October 4th, 2022 and is now playing on Senocular Top Picks.
