German-based composer and producer, Bekim!, brings out the New Jack style on his latest single, “Next To Me.” This smooth R&B track has a 90s vibe featuring classic production styles and a replayed sample of Club Nouveau’s “Why You Treat Me So Bad” reminiscent of “I Got Five On It” by Luniz. The counter-melody on the hook create a dramatic tension which separates this track as it’s own creation while celebrating the past. The smooth vocals ride the production in a way that allows for a modern vibe, pushing the genre into the future.
